Our sales figure of exported aluminum cans in 2020 reaches to 200millions totally, which is 47% higher than 2019 year. Though the shipment cost is much higher than before, abroad market demand were still accelerated. Global can manufacturers are working hard to add capacity to meet the surging demand.
Why aluminum can demand still increased in this difficult time ? Nowadays, more and more countries pay much attention to environmental and recycling way of economic development.
Aluminum cans are the most sustainable beverage package on virtually every measure. Compared with plastic and glass, the aluminum can’s recyclability and high percentage of recycled content drives the recycling system contribute to its popularity. Aluminum cans have a higher recycling rate and more recycled content than competing package types. They are lightweight, stackable and strong, allowing brands to package and transport more beverages using less material. And aluminum cans are far more valuable than glass or plastic, helping make municipal recycling programs financially viable and effectively subsidizing the recycling of less valuable materials in the bin.
Most of all, aluminum cans are recycled over and over again in a true “closed loop” recycling process. Glass and plastic are typically “down-cycled” into products like carpet fiber or landfill liner.
In 2021, the sales and demand could still keep increasing, according to the global aluminum industry current demand conditions. Anyway, aluminum can is the future of beverage packing.
